This was part of a trade for a guy at paleo planet.  He said he wanted a clip point and he
had the handle materials he wanted to use.  But aside from that he left the design up to me.
I haven't made a knife with a rough surface in a while so I pounded some scale into the
sides to give it that "old" look.
Basic froe for splitting kindling and shingles (both are traditional uses).  The eye is
forgewelded closed and the blade is semi-sharp.  It's designed to split with the grain so a
razor edge isn't needed.  This is forged from low-carbon steel and is easily touched up with a
file.
A fellow at paleoplanet posted that he wanted "something that looks old" in the roachbelly style.   It was a lot of fun to make
this style. A neighbor walked in while I was working on the sheath and asked me where I got the old knife.

The blade is 5160, about 9" overall and the handle is sycamore with copper pins.
