Jerry "Scalp Creek" Adams at paleoplanet posted in the metal work section that he wanted a knife made. This is the second email between us and it pretty well sums up the nature of the request and what he was after:

Hi Kris, I am really looking for something old looking. I am attaching a picture of a Roach belly shaped blade, kind of a curved cutting edge. Now the handle does not need necessaryily to drop back smaller like the one in the photo, ...in other words the handle could be the same height as the blade if that is easier. As to the steel...I would like it to be flexible and hold an edge both. I also would like the roughest finish you can muster...without regard to moisture retention. leave small pits etc. if you can leave a darkish finish on the blade that would be swell. wood handle, 3 pins is fine. and Yes, I would love for you to make a sheath to fit the knife for the extra. Take a look a the the picture and see what you think..so far, we are "on track" and I have no objections to the prices etc. sounds very cool to me! Make something you will be proud of and won't mind showing off on PP!! Keep in mind though this is for a mountainman outfit, so can't look like it came from the sporting goods store. ;-) Thanks for the help on this pard, Jerry
